Avengers: Age of Ultron Press Junkets for Skype

X Games Marks the Spot
Following on from the quick turnaround interactive social map I oversaw for Skype at the Winter X Games in 2013, we ramped it up a notch for the Summer Games in Austin. This time we created an interactive map that featured on ESPN’s X Games site as the official social map, as well as the official campaign website we designed for Skype. The map provided visitors with information on the location of different events throughout the games, as well as displaying tweets, images and videos from competitors.
The map guided the viewer through the various events, and highlighted real-time content that was being created by fans, Skype ambassadors and athletes themselves. The map itself was fully responsive and used the power of Microsoft’s Bing to show the viewer the event space. We worked closely with Bing’s interactive map partner to hone the user experience, that included a carousel collated to showcase the latest and greatest content (drawn in via selected hashtags), a filter to allow specific content or media type, and scalable custom location and event pins.
Epic.
Skype Man
An idea developed with Lee Devine & Tom Edwards for Skype - as yet an undeveloped idea, despite our best efforts and a tonne of research. The idea is that deserving members of the public could interact with their heroes via Skype that is fed into a screen within a custom helmet worn by the Skype equivalent of the Stig. The opportunities were endless: celebrities could surprise fans by turning up to their house on the other side of the world using Skype Man. The screen can also showcase other Skype assets such as animated emoticons.

Character Illustration & Simple Flash Invite 2011
My mate’s wife approached me to tackle his 30th invitation. I decided that Sinan’s ‘Arabic country gent’ look was the perfect focus for the invite and set about drawing a caricature of the man. I then inked it up and recreated it in Illustrator, before adding the final touches and simple flash animation. The full process can be viewed below, and the final invite can be viewed at www.sureboss.com/sinaninvite.
