Flick Mites Cinema Campaign
2011
Character Design, Illustration
50 illustrated characters based on iconic film characters for customers to name. Proved very popular and succeeded in creating a buzz around the Boomerang postcard racks within cinemas across the UK.
- Flick Mites 'Guess the Film' campaign
A set of 50 illustrated characters representing iconic characters from movie films - Boomerang Media wanted to generate some interest in their cinema postcard network, so I came up with a set of cards that included 50 illustrated cinema characters for the audience to guess which movie they were from. The set of three cards were distributed to postcard racks in cinemas across the UK. They proved to be hugely popular, with hundreds of cinema goers emailing in requesting answers for ones that they couldn't get.

Hello,
We love your Flick Mites postcards, we happened to find card 2 of 3 of your Flick Mites series, and wanted to see the other cards. Do you have a website or something that would allow us to view them or will we be forever disappointed?
Thanks for reading this. Gena and Tony
Hello there.
I received one of your postcards with the Flick Mite film characters on and between me and my mates we can't figure out who the girl in the red top holding a gnome is!! Can you shed any light on this for us and end some drunken frustrations?
Much appreciated, Karl Bright.
Hi Simon,
Picked up a 'Flick Mites' postcard from the cinema, and think the artwork is fantastic. Just wondered if you've done poster size prints of them, and how much one would cost?
Thanks, Dan ShiresDear Simon
I was recently given a postcard with some of your artwork on it. I think the Flick Mites are brilliant and would like to share them with my friends. Do you have a website I could direct them to?
Kind regards, Lorna Hamilton
Hi Simon,
I picked up postcard 2 of your Flick Mites series and was wondering if you had an online portfolio or something of your work I could look at. I'd love to see part one and three of the series because I think they are fantastic.
Anyway, great work and take it easy, NiallHello Simon
I picked up a postcard at the cinema with your Flick Mites on them, it is marked card 2 of 3 and includes Hannibal Lecter and Gladiator. Please can you settle a row at work by sending me the complete list of names for this card, also do you have the card 1 of 3 that you could pdf to me?
Many thanks for keeping us amused for several lunchtimes! Petra Meeson
Hi Simon
Hope your well, just wanted to say that I love the Flick Mites cards you have done, they are so cool, I'm a big movie fan. I have postcard 2 of 3 but I don't have the others, do you know where I could get hold of them?
Kind regards Leeanne

This was an invitation request from the wife of a great mate of mine, who happens to be a rather distinctive and eccentric chap, as well as a food connoisseur (AKA gutsy pig). I thought he was best presented as a character in a simple online flash animation that can be found at www.bluntedge.co.uk.Character Design, Illustration, Animation
